چکیده

Fish homogenate inoculated with Japanese strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were either stored at 0.6 C or frozen and stored at -18 and -34 C. Greater survival of the organisms was obtained at 0.6 C than at the lower temperatures.

Survival of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in shrimp tissue under various environmental conditions.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus culture O from Gulf Coast shrimp was inoculated into whole shrimp and shrimp homogenate to determine its survival at various temperatures and pH values. Although large decreases in viable population occurred during storage for 2 days at 10 to -18 C, survivors were present even after 8 days. No significant differences were observed in the population changes of inoculated ...

Method for the detection of injured Vibrio parahaemolyticus in seafoods.

The sensitivity of Vibrio parahaemolyticus cells to refrigeration and frozen storage and the development of a method for detecting injured and uninjured V. parahaemolyticus cells were studied. Cell suspensions in different kinds of seafood homogenates were either regrigerated (4 degrees C) or frozen (-20 degrees C), stored, and examined for cell survival during storage. V. parahaemolyticus cell...

Modified selective and differential isolation medium for Vibrio parahaemolyticus.

The semiselective salt-starch-agar formulation of Baross and Liston was modified as the result of a systematic study of the effect of each constituent on the growth of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and competitive species characteristic of the marine environment. The selection of nutrient constituents depended on an analysis of their effect on generation time. The addition of inhibitors depended on a...

Multiple Cross Displacement Amplification Combined with Gold Nanoparticle-Based Lateral Flow Biosensor for Detection of Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Vibrio parahaemolyticus (V. parahaemolyticus) is a marine seafood-borne pathogen causing severe illnesses in humans and aquatic animals. In the present study, multiple cross displacement amplification was combined with a lateral flow biosensor (MCDA-LFB) to detect the toxR gene of V. parahaemolyticus in DNA extracts from pure cultures and spiked oyster homogenates. Amplification was carried out...

Intracellular survival of virulence and low-virulence strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Epinephelus awoara macrophages and peripheral leukocytes.

In this study, we examined the virulence factors and pathogenesis of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Epinephelus awoara. The chemotactic motility of V. parahaemolyticus for phagocytosis and intracellular survival in fish macrophages was determined using virulence strains and low-virulence strains of V. parahaemolyticus. We found that the intracellular mean number of virulence strains of V. parahaemo...
